quick update

Been really busy trying to unpack the past 2 weeks and haven't had much time for leisurely activities such as blogging.
Today I discovered there is actually carpet downstairs!and,I really have a dining room and living room instead of a big mountain of stuff.I  am really excited seeing everything finally come together and get unpacked and organized, next week is the grand unpacking and setting up of my sewing/craft room and then I still have a few things to do before I'm totally done and ready to enjoy planting a few things in planters on our back patio :)
BUT.....first things first!Daisy has her third dance performance tomorrow night and she is really excited!I love seeing her on the big stage performing in front of hundreds and hundreds of people in the packed auditorium,it is so good for her (believe it or not she is really shy lol)
   So,tomorrow there will be pictures!

Inspection Passed!

I passed the inspection on the apartment so we are officially out of there!! Yay! We are beyond the transition period of being half way between two household at once. And let me tell you,IT IS A GOOD FEELING!!!!!
Have lots of unpacking to do but the bulk of the boxes and mess are downstairs except in my sewing room too.We are working on taking boxes upstairs and putting each box away as we unpack it.Its alot of work, but were making progress!
Ready for a break and maybe something relaxing before bed? :)

yay

Moving is alot of work lol everything is moved and cleaned from the apartment, tomorrow is the inspection. All I gotta do is run and put the oven racks back in the oven and this stage of being in two places at once will finally be over and I can focus on getting everything unpacked and making our new place home :)

Today Is MOVING DAY!! at long last!

Today is finally moving day!I am totally overwhelmed. The trucks wont be here til 3 pm so I still have a few hours to accomplish stuff.Lilly must not like the impending change, she has cried all morning and will not calm down, she is clinging to my legs and tripping me everywhere I go.Im exhausted from staying up late packing last night after the girls went to bed but man,it sure was easier that way!
So,tonight we will sleep in our new house, and the girls will each have their own rooms so that will be nice.
Well, heres a few pics of the mess I got going on right at this moment lol

23 Boxes Closer...

Today alone I have packed 23 boxes so far.I have worked hard,I have taken 2 huge loads of stuff to the dumpster,a big box of canned foods to a neighbor and am still packing in earnest.I am really hoping to have everything moved in about 2 days so that I can start focusing on UNPACKING lol
I cant wait to start my craft room and buy shelves and stuff to organize my stash and go thru it all.It will be so  much easier to do a project being able to see the inventory I already own.I have never had a sewing space or craft room where I can actually leave my sewing machine out on the desk.I have always sewed on the diningroom table but that has its major downsides of the girls getting into my stuff and having to move it all at meal or snack time.
Well,I need to keep plugging away every box I pack is one box closer to my goal!

Moving

   YAY!
So,on Thursday I received a call that our new house was empty and going to be cleaned and painted over the weekend and would be open and available on MONDAY (4-4-11)!!!WHoa! that was a full 11 days EARLIER than we had previously been told!Carpets are being steam cleaned on Monday morning,we have been put on the Housing Authority Inspection Board, hopefully to be inspected on Monday and then we will have one more lease meeting then we can start moving on Tuesday or Wednesday! That gives us about 9 days to be moved out of this place and to have it cleaned and ready to be inspected on the 14th.
I got all kinds of packing to do still and honestly I'm so tired I can barely stay awake so I guess it will all have to wait for morning and maybe I will have a fresh outlook on life :)

Still Waiting to Move

We are STILL waiting to move...
So far,we have been turned down by a few places, and had to turn down our favorite place due to issues we really felt we couldn't live with.Such as we were choosing to live in a really nice looking family friendly apartment complex on the very outside edge of town. Then after asking around we heard there were drug issues at the apartment complex, and then after being promised an upstairs unit we were then told we would have to be at ground level.Hello,we are leaving this place mainly because its not a good place to raise the girls, there are drug issues, violence etc. Then the whole ground level is an issue because Lilly has no concept of danger and tries to escape constantly, the first chance she gets she runs straight for the road as fast as she can.She has had a few really close calls,as has Daisy and honestly, maybe I'm just paranoid, but I would rather have the girls have to scale two flights of steps before hitting the big danger zone if they manage to escape. They have both gotten out a couple times here but I have always caught them almost instantly, and let me tell you those incidents filled this mamas heart with panic! If you met some of the people here you would understand why!
Let me explain, this place is funded by the government and so it is cheap housing, yes,it is perfect for the young single mum who is just starting out with a baby, but not ideal for someone trying to raise a family, there have been alot of young couples with no kids moving in lately and that's kinda been the turning point for me,drunk, high, convicted felons with baseball bats and big wrenches,so not safe for my kids!AND DON'T GET ME WRONG!!one of my closest family members IS a convicted felon,I have nothing against felons per say, just against THESE felons lol
Anyhow,we think we have finally found a place!I'm so excited,we were given a moving date of April 15th,please pray for us,that if this is meant to be it WILL happen!

So Tired of Even Thinking About Moving Blah...

Still looking for a new place to live.Time is running out after multiple disappointments and let downs Im getting frustrated. We now have just over 3 weeks to find a place and get moved.Im beginning to stress but just keep praying the perfect house is  on the horizon.I haveprobably called at least 75 Landlords this week, calling  28 yesterday alone!Everyone is full or have crazy, ridiculous rules. Not to mention very few places will even consider letting us keep Andy (the puppy we were given last week).
The girls are so sick of being drug out to look at new houses every day and have been showing it with their awful behavior! So far 3 different landlords went as far as to tell us they didnt want kids in their units after they met the girls(who were previously ok with kids)...Thanks girls, mum really appreciates the extra hassel, but I gues those places werent meant for us lol

Our moving date is getting closer and closer every day although we don't have an official date yet.I am really, really excited to be moving out of here.I'm so tired of having to  fear for the girls safety every time we leave the house.
Any outing consists of worrying someone will fall down 2 flights of slippery stairs, then once finally down hoping we don't run into the downstairs neighbors, one being a very happiness deprived single mother who seems to always have a reason to be screaming and cussing out her baby. The other being a hillbilly couple who never can tell when we need to go or are in a hurry and we always get stuck visiting forever.
Then our next concern is getting into the van without anyone running into the street and getting run over. Then I do a quick once over on the van to see if there are damages of vandalism yet again, and to make sure the tires haven't been disturbed slashed either,if all looks good we are finally free and clear of the drama these apartments bring.
I can honestly say,I am very thankful for this place and for government housing, when I was a young, single mum with a very very sick baby girl just out of the hospital with nowhere to live this place was a huge blessing. However after just over 3 years here it is time to move on for both the girls and my own sake.We will all be much happier elsewhere, and that will mean Nick will be able to come over and spend daily time with the girls, and hopefully we can save money and get married the end of the year.We decided to postpone it until we were more financially stable and things were a little better for us.
Well, enough rambling for now I have tea towels to finish, corn bags to sew and the girls are both in dire need of new shirts,so I'm gonna be a busy Mama :)

Packing

I have been forcing myself to pack a minimum of 5 boxes a day, preferrably more in preparation to move around Jan 15-18. I have alot to do but I feel like I have accomplished alot the past 3 days.I haave painted the bathroom twice,I have painted the hallway twice and the livngroom wall twice.I have packed 8 boxes so far,and YES I started with TOYS :) I promised Daisy shw would see them again very soon and I packed everthing except the very favorites, such as the electronic, bottle fed baby pandas, and their lovey along with maybe 2 other toys each, now hopefully I can focus more on moving then on keeping afterthe girls to pick up toys :)
I ran to Lowes this morning and bought a beautiful brown floral rug (for our new place,so no pics yet) and also bought another can of white paing to paint my bedroom and kitchen back to the original color.Part of the lease agreement was I could paint as long as everything was white again when we left.
The other evening I sat down and made a really cute Valentines day project,it turned out really cute, hopefully I can take pics later .
Im really excited about moving and am really hoping this brings me and Nick closer together this year.We put aside wedding plans and everyhting else for now and are focusing ourselves on making our relationship better and working with the girls together.
Does anyone have a tutorial for making one (or similar) of these?I pulled this pic off the internet and am wanting to make one for an upcoming baby shower gift.
